What is a school management system?
A school management system is software that keeps a school's records and daily work in one place. TapEdu covers admissions and student records, attendance registers, results and report cards, school fees, parent communication and a public school website, with separate portals for administrators, teachers, parents and students. It supports nursery, primary and secondary schools, combined schools and groups of schools.
Can TapEdu compute results and print report cards?
Yes. You set your assessment components, such as CA and exam, with weights that total 100%, and your own grade scale. Teachers enter scores in the markbook, results move from draft to submitted, reviewed and published, and TapEdu builds class broadsheets with averages and optional class positions. Each student's term report can be printed straight from the browser.
Can parents check results and pay school fees online?
Yes. In the Family Portal, parents see published results, attendance, assignments and fees for each linked child. They can fund a wallet by bank transfer, which your finance staff confirm, or through an online payment gateway or virtual account where your school has set one up, then pay invoices in full, in part or per fee item and get a receipt.
Does TapEdu work on phones? Is there an app to install?
TapEdu works in any modern browser on a phone, tablet or computer, so there is nothing to install. There is no separate app store app: administrators, teachers, parents and students simply sign in from their browser.
How do we get started, and why does TapEdu review schools?
Apply online with your school's details and you will get a reference number to track your application. The TapEdu team reviews every school before it goes live, may ask for more information, and emails you at each step. Once you are approved, your workspace, main campus and subdomain are set up automatically and your first administrator is invited to a 10-step setup wizard.
Can we import our existing records?
Yes. Download a template, then upload CSV, TXT or XLSX files of up to 10 MB for students, guardians, staff, subjects and enrollment. TapEdu checks every row and shows a preview, imports only after you confirm, and gives you an error report for any rows that need fixing.
How is our school's data kept separate and secure?
Each organisation's data is kept separate from every other school on TapEdu. Access is controlled by role, with 130 permissions you can switch on or off per role, important changes are written to an audit log, and payment provider credentials are stored encrypted.
How much does TapEdu cost?
